Classwork: Editing

This editing classwork is done to capture the school's fun run activity. 

In class, we were given a classwork on learning how to cut to the beat. This activity we did not have to go around and record the footage ourselves but we use the footage that was taken during my school's fun run activity. There was 2 google drive with thousands of pictures and videos, where from this we had to pick through the type of footage that we want to add. 
This activity was a group activity, where I was group with Kimora and Kellie.

Classwork | Cut to the beat by Jyotisha

This next editing classwork is done to capture my friend's birthday party which gave me an exercise on editing the video to show emotion and feeling of the day with different songs added. 

During the holiday, one of my friend which also is my teammate Cassie had her birthday which she ask me to capture moments during the party but I decided to record moments in order to gain practice as well as making it more memorable for her. 

This is a presentation that explain how I created the video.

This next editing classwork was created during the break where I went out with my friends while i capture moments, this allow me to have a practice in shooting POV shots while still capturing emotions of people. I also had practice in adding music together to emphasize emotions. 

During the a small break, I went out with my friends and use that opportunity to practice POV shots by making vlogs. It was a fun activity as I was able to edit the video without following any guide and solely focus on my creativity. Which I was able to learn new things from different software such as combining both After Effects and Premiere Pro into one video.

Reflection: As during group projects I would become the editor, having these practice in creating videos allow me to sharpen my skills in using the platform being premiere pro so I was still learning the interface of the platform as well. By creating different kinds of video idea, it allow me to gain new knowledge between different themes of video while at the same time trying to make sure the video result follows the theme. 

    With this practice in editing videos, I was able to strengthen some of my skill which is being decision-making. Usually, my decision making skills during editing is quite slow making my editing progress takes a lot of time to finish the video. As with editing, figuring out what can be remove and what should be added to make the video engaging is very important that I used to have a weakness in. Now after this practice, from all 3 of the video I was able to finish it in less than a 3 days to finish it even though the duration of the video was short. Even with a much faster speed in editing, I believe my quality of video has improved as well as for me the vlog video had the more engaging one as it felt like a youtube video. With this it has taught me how to engage with audience using the media by either the edits and even the audios added. 

    Overall, this editing practice was a really fun activity to do. As I am familiarize with the editing, it was easy to do. Especially editing this allowed me to learn new skills which will be very useful to add to the music video in order to get the engagement of the audience while at the same time increasing the quality of the music video.
